Jesus Saves

darkness covered the surface of the watery depts... the spirit of god was hovering over the surface of the waters.... amidst the darkness... he called light into that darkness... the light was good... he separated the light from the darkness.... day from night...

the next several days, god spent separating and gathering different things....   the expanse between the waters separating water under and above... sky was the expanse.   what was above this??  it doesn't say

then under the expanse (sky), he gathered the water and placed dry land there.

then he filled the land with seeds, plants and trees.

he filled the sky then ... with stars and the sun and the moon.    the sun and smoon to separate the days from the night.. and to separate time into seasons, years.  to separate light from darkness.

5th day - the he filled the water and the sky with creatures in the sea and air.  he blessed them to be fruitful and multiply.
6th day he filled the and with living creatures, and then with man... to rule it all.  He blessed them so that they would be fruitful and subdue the earth.

In Genesis 2,

The Lord God caused to grow out of the ground every tree pleasing in appearance and good for food, including the tree of life in the middle of the garden, as well as the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

God placed all trees:
1) pleasing in appearance
2) good for food

But later the serpent told Eve that the tree of knowledge was good for obtaining knowledge.. eyes will be opened and be like God.

Gen 3:6

Then the woman saw that the tree was good for food and delightful to look at, and that it was desirable for obtaining wisdom.

So it was like the rest in that it was good for food, and pleasing in appearance, but now it was also desirable for obtaining wisdom.   So, God gives us wisdom, but this wisdom is achieved without the guidance and protection of God, it is a persons own wisdom... or wisdom outside of god's wisdom which is not wisdom at all.

Because they let the darkness in, they submitted to the darkness.  they no longer have the safety and sanctity that they had, the protection, the provisions.
Now since they wanted their own wisdom, they have to multiply by the flesh, and provide for themselves from the flesh,.... they did after all submit to the flesh.

Lust of the flesh - it was good for food  .. but so were the others.  God made them that way
Lust of the eyes - it was pleasing in appearance .. but so were the others.  God made them that way
Pride of life... wisdom... our wisdom is in our father... our pride is in him.

So now they brought a curse upon the earth... the ground was cursed.

It doesn't mention eating bread before the fall, God said that they would eat of the .. but after the fall it speaks of eating bread by the sweat of his brow..   grain..

Gen 1:29 God also said, “Look, I have given you every seed-bearing plant on the surface of the entire earth and every tree whose fruit contains seed. This food will be for you, 30 for all the wildlife of the earth, for every bird of the sky, and for every creature that crawls on the earth—everything having the breath of life in it. I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so.

but now:  (Gen 3:18,19)

It will produce thorns and thistles for you,
and you will eat the plants of the field.
19 You will eat bread[f] by the sweat of your brow

God had to kill an animal to cover the sins... the flesh.

21 The Lord God made clothing out of skins for Adam and his wife, and He clothed them.

22 The Lord God said, “Since man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil, he must not reach out, take from the tree of life, eat, and live forever.” 23 So the Lord God sent him away from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken. 24 He drove man out and stationed the cherubim and the flaming, whirling sword east of the garden of Eden to guard the way to the tree of life.

Man was protected from evil... he only "knew" God, not good.. God.  now he has opened the door to know evil, and "good".... whatever we know as good anyway.
