The Plot to Kill Jesus

26 When Jesus had finished saying all this, He told His disciples, “You know[a] that the Passover takes place after two days, and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.”
Then the chief priests[b] and the elders of the people assembled in the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, and they conspired to arrest Jesus in a treacherous way and kill Him.“Not during the festival,” they said, “so there won’t be rioting among the people.”

Mark 14:1-2Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

The Plot to Kill Jesus

14 After two days it was the Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread. The chief priests and the scribes were looking for a treacherous way to arrest and kill Him. “Not during the festival,” they said, “or there may be rioting among the people.”

Luke 22:1-6 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

The Plot to Kill Jesus

22 The Festival of Unleavened Bread, which is called Passover, was drawing near. The chief priests and the scribes were looking for a way to put Him to death, because they were afraid of the people.

Then Satan entered Judas, called Iscariot, who was numbered among the Twelve. He went away and discussed with the chief priests and temple police how he could hand Him over to them. They were glad and agreed to give him silver.[a] So he accepted the offer and started looking for a good opportunity to betray Him to them when the crowd was not present.
