Nico is searching for an explanation for something he cannot unsee.  he may argue with john the baptist, and john may be blinded by his own bitterness.  but ultimately, in the middle.. is Jesus.

  10. 21:12 - jesus and disciples walking to cana, mentioning Jesus was the clumsy friend
  11. 22:39 - mary with mother of groom dressing up the huppa.  mary talking about her wedding, not accepted because she was pregnant.  mary mentioned jesus might bring others.   wine people are there and they have to meet them. ramah, vintner, Jesus comes with the current disciples and mary greets them.
  12. 26:22 - back to John and Nico in prison.  part of this discussion really really hits me.. when John says:
    • if he is healing in secret now, the public signs cannot be far off
    • When Nico asks his name, John says "Who has ascended into heaven and come back down? Who has gathered the wind in his fists?  Who has wrapped up the waters in a garment? ".. the oracle of Agur, son of Jakeh..  "Who has established all the ends of the earth?  What is his name, and what is the name of his son?
    • after Nico argues, John says "All your life you've been asleep, "Make Straight the way for the King!", He is here to awaken the Earth".   But some will not want to waken, they're in love with the dark.
    • I wonder which one you'll be.
    • and shortly after... "If you think he needs my help, you've heard nothing".
  13. 28:33 back to the wedding - singing a wedding song, danging in circles:  "There shall be heard again in the ciities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem "... "a voice of joy and a voice of gladness , the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride
    • as i watch this wedding scene where the bride and groom are all dazzled up holding hands, standing in front of all those singing and dancing, i am thinking of the marriage of the lamb.
    • i noticed that all are drinking out of cups of clay but the bride's rich parents who are drinking out of goblets of gold or brass.   later (after Jesus speaks to Thomas at the 6 purification jars), i see everyone at that table is drinking out of the gold or brass goblets.  must be the family of the bride and groom?  but i thought sure i saw the grooms family drinking out of the clay (or stone) cups
    • when the disciples are sitting around the table at the wedding, Simon says "it is usually the students that choose the rabbi, not the other way around.  I have actually heard in other circles that this is not true.that most students after 13 only hope to be chosen.
    • the disciples all talk about how they were called, Thad and little James..  i don't believe anything in scripture speaks of their calling.. however, i think they are just filling in details. they talk in detail about explains of when now and not then.
    • the dance of Miriam is announced
    • when mary comes to Jesus and says they are out of wine, Andrew says "but its only the first day".   how many days are there?
    • Jesus asks thomas:  do you know why jars for purifications rites are made of stone?   because the stone is pure, less likely to stain or break. and it can't be made unclean.... your heart of stone.. be made flesh.. less likely to stain or break... can't be made unclean...
    • When thad is telling mary about being a smith cutting stone, he says it is more final.  he is telling this story while they are filling the purification jars with water.   He says that if the smith wants to change the horseshoe or the plowshare or the pot hook he only needs to put the iron back into the fire and reshape it to fit his designs.  .... when jesus is getting ready to put his hands into the water jars to make win, thad continues... once you make that first cut into the stone, it can't be undone. it sets in motion a series of choices,   what used to be a shapeless block of limestone or granite begins its long journey of transformation and it will never be the same.
    • Jesus says "i am ready father..."  indicating that God coordinated this scenario (the running out of the wine at the wedding) to indicate to Jesus it is now time.
    • Jesus told them to go draw some out and serve it to the master of the banquet.  Rama and the other servants did this, but Rama actually went to the master of the banquet.  You could see that she was in distress.  althought she did see that it was red wine.. not water.. i can understand how she might be worried about how it might taste.  as a vintner, i have to assume she at least tasted it, but what about the master of the banquets.. when she gave him the fresh batch and he tasted it... would he like it?
    • at the serving, the master of the banquets says:  may the weddin of <bridegroom>  son of <dad> and <mom>  to <bride> daughter of <dad> and <mom> be as pure as as fruitful as this wine. Blessed are you Lord our God, king of the universe, who brings the fruit from the vine.
    • at the end of the wedding, Thomas is watching Jesus.. in awe... watching.   Ramah comes up and says "Who is he".   who indeed.   When thomas says Jesus wanted them to follow him and meet him in samaria in 12 days (is 12 days really the number of days from the wedding to the well of samaria?), he said he didn't know what to think.  And Ramah says.. "So don't.. for once in your life, don't think".  that is often our problem, right?  we think to much.  And God is higher than our understanding.
